Terms & Conditions

Harrison Wall & Floor Tiling Services - 03/11/2025

These terms are designed to make sure your project runs smoothly and that everything is clear and fair for both of us.

1. Start Date & Project Timeline We’ll agree a start date and an expected timeline for your project. Please make sure the area is ready, clean, and clear before work begins. If other trades are involved, please ensure their work is completed so tiling can start on time. If you’re providing your own materials (tiles, grout, trims, etc.), they must be on site and ready by the start date to avoid delays.

2. Deposit & Booking Confirmation A 50% deposit is required at least one week before the agreed start date to confirm your booking and allow materials to be ordered. Your installation date is only secured once the deposit has been received. 3. Cancellations If you need to cancel, please provide notice in writing.

• More than 7 days’ notice: your deposit is 100% refundable.

• 7 days or less notice: your deposit is non-refundable, as materials may have been ordered and the reserved time cannot easily be re-filled, resulting in a loss of earnings.

4. Moving Dates & Delays I understand that plans sometimes change. If you need to move your start date, please give as much notice as possible:

• At least 5 days’ notice: I’ll do my best to reschedule at no cost.

• 4 days or less notice, or if the site isn’t ready on arrival: a daily downtime fee of £150 may apply to cover loss of earnings and rescheduling time. This helps cover the cost of keeping time free for your job when it can’t go ahead through no fault of the contractor.

5. Additional Work & Substrate Preparation Quotes are based on the information available at the time of pricing. If additional work is needed once the job starts (for example, levelling floors, repairing damaged areas, or replacing unsuitable substrates), this will be discussed and quoted separately before continuing.

6. Disposal of Materials The quote does not include disposal of old tiles, packaging, or waste materials, unless agreed in writing beforehand. As trade waste must be disposed of through licensed facilities, additional charges will apply if disposal is arranged by the contractor.

7. Access & Coordination with Other Trades Please ensure I can access the site and that other trades do not prevent or delay work. If the work area isn’t ready or I can’t proceed due to others, the £150 daily downtime fee may apply.

8. Cleaning & Finishing Up I’ll always leave the work area tidy and clean once the job is complete. This includes removing adhesive residue, grout haze, and packaging. Please note this doesn’t include deep cleaning or removal of client-owned items outside the tiling area.

9. Insurance & Liability I hold public liability insurance for all work carried out. I’m not responsible for pre-existing damage, issues outside the quoted scope, or damage caused by others after the job is finished. To avoid accidents, please remove or protect any fragile or valuable items near the work area.

10. Variations & Changes If you decide to change materials, layouts, or add extra work after the quote has been accepted, please confirm in writing. These changes may affect the price or timeline.

11. Payment Terms The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Late payments may incur charges or interest in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

12. Acceptance By accepting your quote, you confirm that you’ve read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
